2020 | Year in the Life with Stampinbuds – January

This weeks Year in the Life is an update for all of January.

YITL - Week 1 Updated

Yep, if you’ve been following along you know that I haven’t been totally happy with how I’ve formatted my book so far. I’ve talked about going back and redoing it for the last couple of weeks… and that’s exactly what I’ve done.

For starters, I was quickly discovering that I didn’t like the overall flow of the book. I also decided that I wished I had continued to use the Spruced Up paper pack for the entire month of January and not just the first few days. And lastly, I didn’t like how the flip flaps were acting all willy-nilly in my book when I would flip through the pages. So, I took the time to update it and I like it so much better so far!

YITL January Update…

First, I started out by using Pocket Plus Memory Protectors – Design #1 to kick off the first several days of my book. (Left) shows the front, (Right) shows the back.

You may have noticed that Day #4 isn’t shown among these two pocket pages? That’s because I really needed it to be it’s own stand-alone page because of the story behind the photo (flip side not shown). To make this a stand-alone page, I used a 6″ x 6″ Memory Protector.

For days 6 – 12 I needed to focus again on a larger page so I used Memory Protector Design #4.

Followed by the backside with days 13 – 19.

Well, actually days 18 and 19 are separated by Pocket Plus Memory Protectors – Design #1 again and then followed up with a kick off to Days 20-23…

I used Memory Protector Design #2 for days 24 & 26 and then filled in the bottom photo areas with some extra photos from the Hunt a Killer game we decided to subscribe too. It’s super fun, by the way. I highly recommend it!

Lastly, I finished off January with the backside of the protector (below) and moved February 1 & 2 into its respective month. You’ll see my revision to February in the next couple of weeks.

YITL - January Updated 6

I hope you enjoyed my updated January book pages. I’m much happier now with how they turned out. The only thing left to create for January is a 12″ x 12″ closing page to close out the ‘chapter’. I’m hoping to get that done in the next couple of weeks, as well. Until then, let me share with you the products I used…
