At my card club last month, another crafter shared her greeting card mini album. I thought that would be a great idea for the baby shower cards I have in a drawer in my craft room.
The Artbooking Cricut cartridge (Z1906) is designed for mini albums and scrapbook pages; exactly what I need to use for my project. I started just with a front and back cover, but as I looked at the cartridge more, I just had to add more pages, pockets, envelopes, images, and more. In addition to images cut from the Cricut cartridge, I used some quotes from the Assortment Journal Spots (Z2042), a few of the Printed Paper Clips (Z2048), and a few sparkles (Z1752).
For several of my cards, I needed a way to insert them into the album without being hole punched. I cut two of this lacy trim in various sizes and sandwiched the cards in between. Then I hole-punched the trim. I used leftover ribbon from baby shower games to bind the mini album together.
While inking titles (see my last post), I noticed the Whimsy Assortment cardstock (Z2033) took the ink between the embossed designs. After wiping off the excess ink, the design was quite pretty. It’s like the paper is heat embossed with out the extra step of embossing. I like this effect, so I inked all of the papers with coordinating Whimsy Assortment inks (Z2504). My little one is here again, “helping”.
Thanks for reading this post. I’ll see you next time.
