Celebrate with Cake!
You don’t have to be a professional cake decorator to make great looking cakes. You can create scrumptious layers of yumminess using Close To My Heart’s “Celebrate with Cake” stamp set, just like I did!
I put together this card for my sweet friend Cindy and her new husband Cary. Just a little something to let them know I’m thinking about them as they celebrate the beginning of their life together.
Rafe and I had the opportunity to really get to know these two when we visited Utah for a Close To My Heart Team Builders event in January 2016. While Cindy and I were in classes, Rafe and Cary went sight seeing. (Lucky!) We had so much fun together! From talking with Cindy, though, I knew that they had been looking at wedding venues for quite some time. Most were booked and couldn’t accommodate the wedding date they wanted.
Recently, I opened up Facebook and saw a picture of Cindy and Cary smiling and holding “Just Maui’ed” signs… They did it! They found a way to tie the knot on the specific day they wanted! Yay! Their pictures were simply stunning and I’m so happy for them!
Celebrate with Cake! – My basic instructions:
5.5 x 2.75 B&T
5.5 x 1.5 Glitter CS
5.5 x .25 CS
4.25 x 3.25 CS
4 x 3 PML Card
Scraps of CS & B&T
- For the cake tops, I stamped (2) sets of the same cake piece image onto the Confetti B&T and Cotton Candy Watercolor B&T (Calypso Paper Pack). This way I could mix and match the frosting and the cake base.
- I stamped the flowers onto the Cotton Candy Watercolor B&T as well.
- I hand-cut all the cake and flower pieces. I even trimmed off the sides of one of the cake layers and rubbed the edges in Black Ink to keep the cake uniform in design.
- I used 3D Foam Tape to layer the cake and Whisper CS behind the PML card.
As I have the opportunity to be in my studio more and more you will begin to see more artwork from me start popping up! I will be highlighting my artwork here on my blog and then filing them into these 2 categories…
Looking for some specific art? Maybe you would like something customer made? Please feel free to E-mail me. :)
