Where the Magic Begins… and Traditions Await!
There’s something about walking through those iconic Disneyland gates that flips a switch in my brain from “real life” to “pure magic.” For this week’s Mouse Made Magic layout, I wanted to capture not just the look of our park days, but the quirky little traditions that make every trip feel like coming home.

Our Disney days always start the same way—stepping through the right-hand entrance, heading up Main Street with a sparkle in our eyes, and ending the night by exiting near Town Hall. In between, there’s a carefully unplanned plan: kick things off with the Jungle Cruise so Rafe can giggle at every joke (yes, even “the back side of water”), work our way through Adventureland and New Orleans Square, fuel up with a Little Red Wagon corn dog back on Main Street, and of course… keep score in our ongoing “fanny pack punch” game. (Let’s just say the 80s made a painful comeback.)
To bring these traditions to life, I leaned into bold Disney colors and playful circles, with a jumbo Mickey head anchoring the left page. The strong geometric blocks keep the focus on the photos while letting the title stretch across both pages for extra impact. It’s a design that screams “park day energy” without overcrowding the story.
