Weekend Adventures – Grand Canyon Anniversary Layout

There’s just something magical about stepping into a place you’ve never been before—especially when the view takes your breath away. This week’s Sweet Start Sketch layout documents our 2019 anniversary getaway, where Rafe and I soaked in the views of some of Southern Utah’s most celebrated places—like the Grand Canyon where we wandered through some seriously majestic scenery.

While we’re not always the “let’s hike all day” kind of people, give us a fresh place to explore and we’re all in—and Grand Canyon National Park was everything we didn’t know we needed. The views were endless, the breeze was clean, and the pace was just slow enough to let us reconnect.

This layout leans into that rustic outdoorsy vibe with a mix of compass prints, trail paw patterns, and rich colors like plaid and pine. I let the papers guide the design, and chose some beautiful blue cardstock to balance out the reds, greens, and browns. The “Outdoor Adventure” title makes a bold, playful statement, while the circular compass embellishment adds a perfect directional touch. I finished it off with a pair of crisp Cricut-cut pine trees—because every nature page deserves a little forest flair.
