Halloween is Coming | Scrapbook Layout

When the evenings turn crisp and pumpkins begin to glow, I know spooky season has arrived—but not because I’m ready to decorate early. My cue comes from my mom.

Two-page Halloween scrapbook layout with photos of a Kimberbell Halloween quilt and festive fabric details.
My mom’s Kimberbell Halloween quilt—a handmade reminder that spooky season has officially arrived.

The HEART:

Each year, right on time, my mom reminds me it’s time to hang her Kimberbell Halloween quilt. That stitched masterpiece—filled with cute witches, candy, and playful pumpkins—marks the true start of October for me. I may not be a big seasonal decorator, but my mom’s quilt always sets the tone for fall fun. It’s a reminder that creativity comes in many forms—fabric, thread, or paper—and that our stories often begin in the traditions we share. This page captures the comfort and nostalgia stitched into every October memory.

The SPREAD:

I used stash papers in black, orange, and lavendar to echo the quilt’s playful spirit without going full fright. Layered patterns of stars, gingham, and tiny spiders create movement while keeping the focus on the photos. The title “Halloween is Coming!” adds warmth and anticipation to the spread, while the little witchy accents add just enough whimsy.

The GLAZE:

Every season has its own signal that tells us it’s time to slow down and savor the moment. For me, it’s that quilt—a gentle reminder that memories don’t have to be elaborate to be meaningful. Whether it’s a decoration, a recipe, or a favorite tradition, let your next scrapbook page tell the story of how you know spooky season has arrived.

Until next time, savor the spooky and sprinkle on the sweet. 🍬
