Journey into Tradition | Scrapbook Layout

Every so often, a layout comes along that captures not just a moment but the start of something truly meaningful. This week’s page, Journey, reflects the beginning of a new faith-filled tradition I’m sharing with both my oldest daughter and my mom.

A two-page scrapbook layout titled “Journey” featuring the Bible in a Year book, floral patterned paper, with floral die-cuts and rhinestones.
Three generations, one purpose—walking through God’s Word together.

The HEART:

I had purchased The Bible in a Year journal a few months ago with every intention of starting right away. Then, just days after the unfortunate passing of Charlie Kirk, my daughter Stephanie shared a TikTok with me of someone promoting the book. She asked if I wanted to join her in using it, and I immediately said yes. We then invited my mom to join us, and suddenly this journey became something so much bigger than myself.

This page documents the start of our commitment—three generations walking together, reading together, and growing in faith together. It’s not just about the journal itself, but about the deeper bonds we’ll create as we share reflections and experiences week by week. We’re super excited to get it started!

The INGREDIENTS:

For this layout, I reached for Florals in Bloom DSP to set a soft and hopeful tone, pairing it with coordinating cardstock. A few well-placed Rhinestones clusters added just the right amount of sparkle to emphasize the beauty of this new beginning.

The Recipe

If you’re ready to turn your everyday photos into lasting stories, my Sketch & Savor Club is where it happens. Each week brings you a story prompt to spark your journaling, inspiration to help you pair photos with paper, and a fresh sketch for baking it all together in just 20 minutes a day. It’s a space to slow down, create, and capture the details that matter most.

The GLAZE:

The word Journey feels so fitting for this season of life. Scrapbooking gives me the chance not only to document where I’ve been but also where I’m headed. This page reminds me that new traditions can begin at any moment, and with them comes an opportunity to draw closer to the people we love—and God.

Here’s to telling the stories that shape our hearts, one page at a time. 💕
