Party Like a Yacht Star – A Layout Full of Sunshine and Sass

Let’s raise a fruity drink (or three 🥤) to this week’s layout! This sun-soaked design, titled Party Like a Yacht Star, is all about carefree cruising, photobombs, and a hilarious straw-filled moment that totally deserved its own scrapbook page.

This catamaran scrapbook layout captures a fun-filled day during our Close To My Heart incentive trip, several years ago, to Costa Rica. Rafe and I joined a bunch of fabulous consultants on a catamaran excursion—complete with sunshine, laughter, and more rum punches than hands.

The STORY:

There’s something about group trips like this that make memories extra scrapbook-worthy. Maybe it’s the shared laughter, the unexpected snapshots, or just knowing you’re going to retell the stories again and again. This one? Monica photobombed a shot, Tina and Susan were in the mix, and Rafe—bless him—ended up holding everyone’s drink while I grabbed the camera. And you know I leaned into it for the journaling.

The INGREDIENTS:

For this 2-page layout, I wanted something playful and bright to match the tropical energy of the day. I used a splash of the Turtle-y Cute DSP from Stampin’ Up! to bring in those beachy vibes and added a bold, layered Cricut title that brings the party to the page. The color palette pulls directly from the drinks and ocean backdrop—yes, I color-matched to cocktails, and no, I’m not sorry.
