Get ready for a Safari Party

After pulling out some Sweet Safari paper earlier this week, I decided to have a Safari Party! Basically I mixed the adorable Safari paper with some Let’s Party paper to create this week’s cards. Let’s take a look…

Safari Party Cute Cards

The PROCESS:

I basically played with a bunch of leftover scrap pieces this week. Since I’m the type of person that makes full cuts when I cut into a fresh sheet, I tend to accumulate scraps like crazy! The up side is it allows me room to make some cards without always grabbing a fresh sheet of paper.

I used a little bit of ink spotting and sanding for my technique. And, instead of using the Silver Glitter Gems that come in the Sweet Safari Kit, I used Red and Yellow enamel Stars.

The Giraffe Card was a little tricky because I tried to make a background that was more appealing than just straight lines. The Lagoon Color was sanded and the other two background pieces were cut at an angle and overlapped. I simply placed the paper in my trimmer and cut from one corner to approximately 1″ up on the other side.

The RECIPE:

Sweet Safari Card Making Kit | Let’s Party Paper | White Cardstock | White Cards & Envelopes | Limeade Ink Pad | Mocha Ink Pad | Sapphire Ink Pad | Sundance Ink Pad | Red Dots | Orange & Yellow Dots | Foam Tape | Thin Foam Tape | Blending Brushes | Sandpaper

The SKETCH:

This week I am taking a look at how I can make my grouping of cards even better. I’m thinking about hyper focusing on a couple of cards each week instead of making a grouping of four. This way I can focus more on the detail and turn out cards that are cuter than cute! We’ll see what I come up with. 😉

In the meantime, Happy Creating this week and I am so excited to start showing you everything I’ve been up to when it comes to the upcoming Mar/Apr 2024 Idea Book! See you soon!
