When you don’t know what to say, Say it with Flowers! Or, in this case, Paper Flowers!
Ok, first off… How did I not know that the February Flower is a Violet? I actually never thought much about it until I saw a recent FaceBook discussion between CTMH Consultants debating the flower of the February Stamp of the Month. Some said they were Violets while others said Pansies… So I turned to Rafe and together we turned to Google.
We learned that Pansies have four petals pointing upward with one pointing down. True Violets, on the other hand, have two petals pointing up and three pointing down making it the true winner of the image in question!
There are two sets available this month – one with metal Dies (Thin Cuts) and one without. Which do you prefer?
I personally like to have the Thin Cuts on hand because it makes the cutting process much easier. I also like that Close To My Heart is now giving us the option to have the Thin Cuts with the Stamp of the Month. Very awesome!
I’m going to admit, I struggled a little bit with this stamp set. While I tend to like pinks over purples, I really had to dig deep to make the color scheme work. I just don’t have an eye for purple and the colors that complement it. However, in the end, I feel like I did ok with my choices and I was able to meet my self-imposed deadline to deliver this blog post to you on time. So win win and Woohoo!
I used two different Patterned Papers from the Jan/Feb 2024 Mix-in Papers to help these adorable cards come together. And once again I pulled in some White Glitter Paper to give the cards some sparkle. I even colored some clear Sparkles with a yellow TriBlend Marker for the win!
