Sketch & Savor No. 017 | Home for the Holidays
Home for the Holidays isn’t about perfection. It’s about where everyone lands when the day is done. The familiar rooms. The lived-in mess. The stories that only happen when you’re together long enough for things to go sideways. This week’s layout leans into that truth, the kind of holiday memory that feels real, warm, and worth remembering exactly as it was.

Christmas Day 2025 was full in the best way. Grand-littles everywhere, small hands, big personalities, and moments unfolding all at once. We also can’t forget our three naughty kitties who made their own contribution to the season by knocking over the Christmas tree. Total havoc. Zero regrets, from them anyway. And honestly? It was perfect. It’s one of those moments that will get retold for years, because it captures the chaos, laughter, and the “new norm” of Christmas with 3 kitties.
For this layout, I wanted the photos to do the heavy lifting. A clean, balanced sketch keeps the focus on the moments while still leaving room for holiday warmth through patterned paper and simple embellishing. The structure helps corral the photos without feeling crowded, much like Christmas itself. The design supports storytelling first, with visual rhythm that guides your eye across the spread and lets each photo breathe.
This is exactly what Sketch & Savor is designed for. Real life, real stories, and layouts that help you actually finish pages. Each week, members get a thoughtfully designed sketch paired with story prompts that make documenting moments like this easier and more meaningful. If you want to spend less time overthinking and more time preserving the memories that matter most, Sketch & Savor is waiting for you.
Your photos. Your papers. My sketch. Your story. 💕
