Story 52 – Week 4

It’s week #4 of my Story 52 journey and here’s a look at the cards that Rafe dealt me this week…

  • All the Things.
  • Technique.
  • Conversation.
  • Phrase Fun.

My Story 52 Week 4 thought process:

Oh no! Not the ‘conversation’ and ‘phrase fun’ cards again. I had a hard enough time using those last week – lol!

Story 52 - Week 4 Prep

Anyways, as you can guess, this week didn’t start off all peaches & cream. I was once again wondering how I would come up with a ‘conversation’ since my brain isn’t that great at remembering things. Surprisingly, however, it only took me about 24 hours to think up a topic & page idea. Sweet! I decided I would write this week’s story about ‘The Butchered List’.

The butchered list was a group of songs gathered onto a playlist that my girls and I have unknowingly botched the lyrics to over the years. The most noteworthy one is Alanis Morissette’s ‘You Oughta Know’ where my daughter Stephanie sang the ‘It’s not fair to deny me of the cross I bare that you gave to me.’ Stephanie butchered it by saying ‘the cross-eyed bear’! So funny! Unfortunately, however, when I went looking to see if I still had the playlist on my computer, it had been erased. So, I turned to my girls for a little help and we got a kick outta these songs once again!

To put the page together for this story, I also needed to use a technique. I decided to try my hand at Cardstock Weaving and, in my opinion, it turned out better than I expected! You can be the judge!

Here’s my finished page…

Story 52 - Butchered List

Surprisingly, I ended up having a lot of fun putting this page together. My girls also reminded me that one of the songs was one that Rafe butchered and there is a funny story behind that one that I can’t wait to share in a future post! Needless to say, I’m not waiting with baited breath for Rafe to deal me the ‘conversation’ card again. So funny!
