Stretching Themed Paper with Thin Cuts

Hi Stampin’ Buds!  It’s Becca with this weeks’ Sous Chef Saturday.  My Christmas cards are done, but both my mom and daughter have requested a set of greeting cards as presents.  So…off to the craft room I go.

I decided to use paper from the Jeepers Creepers paper pack (retiring on January 1, so get it fast) without it looking Halloweeny. I’ve also had this idea about using the Thin Cut sentiments on an angle.  Here’s what I came up with:

For both cards, I began by cutting a 4.25 x 5.5 top panel and die cutting the sentiments at an angle.  I cut the sentiments again out of patterned paper and glued the white sentiment and patterned paper sentiment together.  I glued a strip of different patterned paper to the card base, topped it with the panel with the sentiment cut out, fit the sentiment back inside, and stamped the secondary sentiment from Finding the Words.  The only thing I did different on the “thanks” card was drawing an angled line with a pencil and ruler as a guide to cut the rest of the top panel away after die-cutting.

The “thanks” card was made from paper that’s intended to be cut into PML panels.  Since my kids are grown and have yet to produce grandchildren, I don’t have much Halloween scrapbooking to do these days. I love being able to use the paper in a different way.

I love how fun and funky these cards are…just by putting the die cut at an angle.

Until next time,

Becca
