Sunny Days Ahead | RECIPE
It’s Sunny Days Ahead for Free Recipe Friday!

As I’m sure you can quickly see, I took some ‘creative liberty’ with this week’s Sunny Days Ahead design. Instead of putting the circle in the center of the card, I used Close To My Heart’s Sunburst Background Thin Cut die and offset it from the center. Cute right?
The PROCESS:
I decided that I wanted to see what I could create using only Cardstock this week. Plus, since the Sunburst Thin Cut I had ordered came in this week after being on backorder for a while, I was determined put it to work.
In hindsight, had I made the center circle much bigger, I probably could’ve placed the sun in the center of my card. But what’s done is done and I’ve basically showed you that when you are working with a template, it’s perfectly fine to adjust as needed. <3
After trying to decide what colors I would like to use, I decided to just go with the obvious – Sunshine colors! I also combined two different Stamp Sets to create the sentiments shown on the card.
BONUS: I also discovered that because I used two Cardstock colors to create the card, I could easily create TWO cards instead of just one. The only thing I would change is the frame color and the Sun and Sentiment Strip would be the lighter shade of Sundance Cardstock instead of Canary.

The RECIPE:
- CARDSTOCK:
- Sundance Cardstock
- 4.5″ x 5.75″
- Canary Cardstock
- 4.5″ x 5.75″
- 3.5″ x .5″
- 2.5″ x 2.5″ to cut a 2.25″ circle
- I used retired item Z4181 but you could also cut a Circle using a Cricut, Die Cut, or Punch. The option is yours.
- Sundance Cardstock
- EMBELLISHMENTS:
- (12) .75″ pieces of Gold Shimmer Trim, dovetailed on one end
The DETAILS:
- Attach the SunBurst Frame to the Card front.
- Alternate Sundance and Canary Sunbeams.
- Using the light side of the 2.5″ x 2.5″ Canary Cardstock, cut a Circle using your method of choice.
- Stamp a Sunshine sentiment onto the Sun using Intense Black Ink. Attach the Sun to the Card with Foam Tape.
- Stamp the ‘Hello Sunshine’ sentiment from the June 2021 Stamp of the Month onto the light side of the Canary Cardstock strip.
- Use the TriBlend Marker to color in the sunshines. Attach using Foam Tape.
- Dovetail one side of the 12 pieces of Gold Shimmer Trim. Tuck under the sun on each of the Frame seams.
Super easy! The only thing that could be time consuming about this card is trying to peel the backing off of each individual piece of Gold Shimmer Trim.
