Creating a versatile Hello Baby Layout
Why Hello Baby…
Time sure flies when you’re chasing after a tiny tornado in a diaper! My grandson is officially 10 months old, which means we’re rounding the corner to the big O-N-E faster than his mom can baby-proof the house. (Seriously, why do babies have a radar for the most dangerous objects in a room?) But today, instead of panicking over how fast he’s growing, I’m scrapbooking a front page and a back page for his 1-year album—because every milestone deserves a spot in the scrapbook, especially when it involves tiny toes, chubby cheeks, and an absolute overdose of cuteness.

For this week’s Sweet Start Sketch, I focused on creating a layout that captures the magic of that first year—without looking like a craft store exploded on my desk. I kept the design clean and balanced, layering elements in a way that feels polished but still lets those adorable baby photos take center stage. There’s space for journaling (because let’s be real, I have stories to tell about this little guy), plus just the right touch of embellishments to tie it all together. The result? A layout that’s as sweet as my grandson… but way less wiggly.
LET ME HELP YOU BRING YOUR STORIES TO LIFE…
Now, let’s talk about my Hello Baby Layout that uses the Everyday You & Me Scrapbooking Kit from Stampin’ Up! If you love easy, coordinated, and stress-free scrapbooking, this kit is basically your new best friend. But let’s be honest—I went a little rogue with mine. Instead of following the instructions to a T (because where’s the fun in that?), I mixed and matched elements to create my own custom layout. The left page acts as the title page for my grandson’s 1-year album, setting the tone for all the adorable memories inside. Meanwhile, the right page closes out the album with a heartfelt finish—a full-circle moment, if you will. And the best part? I still have plenty of leftover pieces to whip up another adorable layout later, or more. That’s the beauty of a great kit—you can follow the recipe or bake up something totally unique!
